Amazon is seeking to expand her competition in TEMU and Shein beyond the SH.BA
The company aims to launch its deduction shop, called Haul, in Europe later this year, according to two people familiar with the issue they sought not to be named because the plans are confidential.
Recent posts show that Amazon is watching a wider global participation. One list stated that the company is seeking to hire a software development engineer on the Haul team to help a worldwide start. The work was posted on the Amazon website, but has since been removed. Another role is that a high product manager helps with a departure in Mexico. Both openings were posted earlier this month.
Representatives from Amazon did not immediately respond to a comment request. The information previously reported on Amazon’s plans.
The expansion comes months after Haul’s debut. Amazon discovered the online store in November, describing it as a “shopping experience of shopping that brings the lowest price to a suitable destination”. Transportation is accessible only through Amazon mobile app, and most items are $ 20 or less.
With Amazon Haul, the company is responding to the growth of TEMU, Shein and Tik Shop, all of which are related to China, the second largest economy in the world. The platforms have quickly gained popularity in the US in recent years by connecting hungry buyers of their low prices in clothing, composition, household goods and other items. Like TEMU, Haul offers low -priced products, such as $ 1, eyelash curlers and cosmetic bags, or a cubic zirconia of $ 2.99.
Haul remains in beta for US users, but Amazon has continued to build the service, suggesting that the company sees it becoming a more permanent match of its online store.
The work list is fired that Amazon’s Director General Andy Jassy, made up of senior leaders, has set goals this year to make the transport “go big” to the US and around the world.
Launch of transport in Europe can come with some challenges. Amazon is likely to use plastic packaging for shipping deliveries, which will conflict with its endurance goals in the region, according to one of the sources. The company in 2023 passed the use of only recyclable paper bags, cardboard envelopes and boxes or, in some cases, without increased packaging, for deliveries to Europe.
Amazon is taking a page from his online heritage store to make money in more ways. The company this month began showing sponsored products in some transport search results, allowing sellers to pay for certain items to appear at the top of the site. The company has filled more sponsored items in search results on its desktop site and mobile app over the years. They make up the bulk of Amazon’s advertising revenue, which reached $ 56.2 billion in 2024.
Amazon has added stores curated by lifestyle influencers inside the main shipping site. One contains “fashion choices” by Michaela Delvillar, an influential with more than 150,000 followers in Tiktok, whose store Amazon says she is a “top creator”.
Amazon is growing, which relies on goods by sellers based in China, although practice comes under control by President Donald Trump. Earlier this month, Trump suspended, then returned, the de minimis rule, which allows exporters to send packages worth less than $ 800 to the US without task.
The skill is expected to close again as the trade department and customs officials set systems to process and collect fees in millions of de minimis packages flowing to the US daily. A considerable part of those packages derive from China.
Jassy was asked about De Minimis check on Thursday in an interview with Bloomberg Television. He said Amazon has a “certain number of items that are sent” for transport, but are less likely than Chinese companies of e -commerce such as Shein and Temu.
